SYNOPSIS
In September 2018, a 24-year-old
graduate of Philosophy from the University of Abuja, Nigeria, Jasini Geidam,
embarked on a life changing journey to the twin towns of Eket in Akwa Ibom
State and Igarra in Edo State respectively.
It has been said that people fear the
things they do not understand. And what people do not understand they speculate
about or even attack. Jasini’s encounter with accused child ‘witches’ of Eket
and a lone, mysterious old Igarra woman opened his eyes to certain truths about
eccentric people, and then transformed him into the very thing he feared the
most. That thing that everyone fears…
And right before his very eyes, a
strange story, of beliefs and cultural practices that led to gross abuse of
persons, of man’s inhumanity to man, greed, betrayal, retributive justice and
an unbelievable kind of revenge, unfolded… This is not a horror story; it is a
story of horror…
